Heineken have pulled an ad and issued an apology after Chance The Rapper said it was 'terribly racist'

People aren’t happy with the ‘lighter is better’ slogan.

EARLIER THIS WEEK, Chance The Rapper spotted a Heineken ad that didn’t sit well with him. He took to Twitter to complain about the ad, which he referred to as ‘terribly racist’.

I think some companies are purposely putting out noticably racist ads so they can get more views. And that shit racist/bogus so I guess I shouldn’t help by posting about it. But 😂 I gotta just say tho. The “sometimes lighter is better” Hienekin commercial is terribly racist omg

Exactly!!!! they're obviously talking about the beer but you know with the visual they were trying to be slick with the racism it passes 3 black in a row and first thing comes up is "sometimes lighter is better"

Chance later tweeted that he was not calling on people to boycott Heineken.

Afterwards, Heineken released a statement on Twitter to apologise for the ad.
